Common Core Mathematics

The Common Core Standards in Mathematics are a strand of standards or skills that are a guide for both the teachers and the students. The standards are an outline of skills that are necessary for accomplishment during the school year. The major strands in the elementary grades are Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Numbers and Operations in Base Ten, Numbers and Operations - Fractions, Measurement and Data, and Geometry. There are specific standards given to each grade. The standards are set in order to help the students step closer when learning mathematics move more into the Conceptual Understanding and Problem Solving 

realms of knowledge.

At Yes Kids Tree, our mathematics lessons are also planned according to these set standards given, with each grade level differentiated. As a tree depicts, we are hoping to help the students build strong roots and firm foundations in the mathematics being learned so that as the years pass, it may continuously grow and become fruitful knowledge.
